We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Rebecca "Pita" Gonzales, who was born on December 7, 1955, and passed away on March 11, 2025, in San Bernardino, California.
Pita was a loving and devoted wife to Jose “Tino” Gonzales and a cherished mother to her children and their families: Mariano & Gina, Andrea & Angel, Savannah, Alma & Brenda. Her adored grandchildren were Mariano, Rolando, John, Jaxen, Ava, Benecio, Oliver, Abel, and Gabriel. Her beloved nephews Arthur and Ray. A devoted aunt to her many nieces and nephews who lost a parent, she tried her best to fill that void and never forget them. Her beloved pet grandbabies also brought her much joy.
Born and raised in Cucamonga, California, Pita experienced both joy and sorrow throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her mother, Raquel Nicasio, and five of her nine siblings: Bobby Macias, Miguel “Kinkie” Nicasio, Mario Nicasio, Ruben Nicasio, and Raquel “Kinka” Sevallos. She is survived by her sisters, Susie Rodriguez and Romie Olivas, and her brother, Manuel Nicasio. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on April 24, 2025, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, located at 10079 8th St, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730. The Rosary will begin at 11:15AM, followed by Mass at 12:00 PM.
A Celebration of Life will follow from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Cooper Regional History Museum, located at 217 E A St, Upland, CA 91786.
