Milton Dean Jackson

Milton Dean "MD" Jackson, Sr. was born on September 21, 1937 in Vance, Mississippi. He was the second of twelve children born to the union of Europe and Beatrice Herring Jackson.

Milton accepted Christ at an early age at New Hope Baptist Church in Vance, Mississippi. He attended primary and middle school in Vance and Lambert, Mississippi and graduated from Lambert High School. The same night after graduation, Milton and his older brother Franklin took the train from Batesville, Mississippi to Champaign, Illinois to stay with their uncle, Willie Jackson.

While in Illinois, Milton married the love of his life, Lennie Anderson. Because of their love for family, the couple traveled back to Mississippi just to hold another wedding ceremony.

Milton learned at an early age the importance of education, hard work, and responsibility. He gained employment at the University of Illinois in Champaign. While employed as a full-time cafeteria worker, he furthered his education by attending classes there as well.

At the urging of a friend, Milton took his family to Chicago in 1964 for better job opportunities. He worked at Nabisco to increase his income. While working there, he applied to Midway Technical Institute, a private vocational and trade school that operated in the 1960s. He left Nabisco and went to school five days a week and worked for a cab company on the weekends. He graduated from Midway with an extensive knowledge of electronics.

In May 1968, the family left Chicago and moved to Los Angeles, California and then to Ontario, CA where he worked for the Regional Transportation District (RTD). He then began his career as a bus driver and was promoted to Operations Manager until his retirement in 1994.

Milton was a faithful member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Pomona, California where he served on the Deacon Board.

Milton was an avid sports fan and loved being outdoors. He also loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surrounded by his loving family, Milton Dean "MD" Jackson, Sr. departed this life to his heavenly home on August 1, 2026. He is joined in rest with his wife, Lennie Jackson; son, Carl Jackson; parents, Europe and Beatrice Jackson; sisters, Mary Pearl McNeil and Jean Jackson; brothers, Franklin R. Jackson, Robert Jackson, Europe Jackson, Jr., and Napoleon Jackson.

He leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, Terry (KaRon), Milton Jr., and Timothy, and a daughter, Joyce; sisters, Earnestine J. Flemings, Jewel D. McNeary, Bettye J. Carter, Gwendolyn J. Mosbey (Michael), Belinda A. Jackson, and Karen D. McNeil; aunt, Teresa J. Sharp; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

Milton's legacy is one of faith, family, service, and love. His memory will continue to inspire all those who were blessed to have known him.
