Mark Houston, 72, of Chino, California passed away on August 25th, 2025 at Kaiser Permanente Ontario. Born June 30th, 1953 to Geraldine Houston in Corona, California, he was raised and went to school in La Puente, California. He graduated from Bassett High School where he was active and excelled in football, swimming, track and field, and theater. As a family man he supported his children in a career truck driving for dairy and grocery, retiring from Vons. Mark was an avid outdoorsman. He loved the beaches, deserts, valleys, and mountains of California that he called home. Throughout his life he spent much of his free time hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing, dirt biking, scuba diving, camping, panning for gold, relaxing on the beach, swimming in the surf, cooking, and entertaining loved ones all over California. He enjoyed music and singing; and spent much of his latter years active in the world of archery competing and hunting. He joined the Oranco Archery Club and and dedicated much of his time as a board member and worker to help the club prosper.
When he cooked it was often enough for at least one army, and the way he knew to show love, communicate and welcome others - “breaking bread” and sharing a meal was togetherness for him.
He is proceeded in death by his mother Geraldine Houston, father Jack Houston, brother Jack Houston Jr., sister Lelani Jakubowski, and son Garret Houston. He is survived by his daughters Jessica (Everett) Lopez and Justine Houston, daughter-in-law Amber Houston and three grandchildren .
