Lennie Mae Anderson-Jackson, affectionately known as "Lynn," was born on September 4, 1938 in Webb, Mississippi. She was the eldest of fifteen children born to the late Nathaniel Anderson Senior and Maud Anderson - a role she embraced with grace, strength, and unwavering love.
Lynn accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Israel Samuel A.M.E. Zion Church in Chicago, Illinois, where her grandfather, Reverend Archie Henry Smith, served as pastor. Her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life.
A proud graduate of Lambert High School, Lynn pursued a career in nursing and became a successful Registered Nurse, dedicating herself to the care and healing of others. Her compassion extended beyond the hospital walls - she later worked as a caregiver to Nancy Cooke, mother of Jack Kent Cooke, the former owner of the Los Angeles Lakers. Lynn was embraced as part of their family, a testament to her warmth and devotion.
She met and married Milton Jackson, Sr., and together they built a loving home. Their union was blessed with five children: Carl, Terry (KaRon), Milton Jr., Timothy, and Joyce. Her eldest son, Carl, preceded her in death.
The Jackson family lived in Champaign, Illinois before settling permanently in Los Angeles, and later Ontario, California. Lynn's entrepreneurial spirit led her to open and operate a nursery school, "Kids Will Be Kids," where she nurtured and inspired countless young lives.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: J.C. Anderson, Nathaniel Jr., Mattie, Florine, Corinne, Archie, Eveline, Dollie, and Darius.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a loving husband of 67 years, Milton D. Jackson Sr.; children: Terry (KaRon), Milton Jr., Timothy, and Joyce; siblings: Hester, Edward (Ellanor), Brenda (James), Jeffrey, Levandra Sr. (Daryl); and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Lynn's legacy is one of faith, family, service, and love. Her memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
