Larry Tabay Atkins

Larry Tabay Atkins Sr., affectionately known as SA Larry, was born on March 23, 1948 to Doris Atkins and Jesse Andrews - both have preceded him in death - in Bernice, Louisiana. Larry was raised by his mother Doris and stepfather William Brunson, his brother James - who has preceded him in death - and his sister Vivian. Larry attended Garfield Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High, and Santa Monica High School. Larry attended Calvary Baptist Church as a youth. He worked as a parking attendant for Los Angeles County for many years and then went on to become a mechanic for the City of Santa Monica, from which he retired in 2003. 

Larry was the father of six children whom he loved dearly; Sheila Atkins Young, Timothy Leon Atkins Sr., Larry Tabay Atkins, Jr. (who preceded him in death), Michael Lamont Ridley, Larry Tabay Atkins III, and Lacy Atkins. 

Larry met Janet North and after a courtship, they were married on October 29, 2012. 

Larry loved to play dominoes, ride his motorcycle while listening to his oldies, and spend time with his children. 

Larry leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Janet North, children Sheila, Timothy (Dannisha), Michael, Larry III, and Lacy; his sister Vivian, his beloved grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
