Ines Martinez

Ines Martinez passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, at the age of 98 in Fontana, California, surrounded by her family. Born in Pacho, Colombia, to Aureliano Bello and Maria Teresa de Jesus Barragan, she will be remembered for her beautiful warm smile, kindness, and generosity.

While the world changed around her over nearly a century, Ines became the matriarch of four generations. She married and widowed at a young age, worked as a talented and creative seamstress to provide for her children, and remarried a few years later. With the help of her eldest son, she crossed a continent to bring her family to the United States in hope of a better life.

She was a razor-sharp wit, loved to be around people, four-legged creatures, and yellow roses, among other things. The most loving and nurturing grandmother a child could hope for, she leaves behind infinitely rich and cherished memories. She was the sun our family orbited around, may perpetual light shine upon her soul.

Ines is survived by her children Alonso, Amanda, Rodrigo, Vicente, Connie, Judith, and Eleonora, eighteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Ines was predeceased by Jose Vicente Martinez (husband, d. 2016), and Jorge Cardenas (first husband, d. 1955).

The reception will immediately follow after the mass at The Old Spaghetti Factory located at 11896 E. Foothill Blvd. Rancho Cucamonga, CA. 91730.

Inés Bello de Martínez, nacida el 29 de junio de 1927 en Pacho, Colombia, hija de Aureliano Bello y María Teresa de Jesús Barragán, falleció en paz el 29 de julio de 2025 en Fontana, California, rodeada de su familia. Inés será recordada por su hermosa y cálida sonrisa, su amabilidad y generosidad.

Matriarca de cuatro generaciones, se casó y enviudó siendo muy joven. Trabajó como una talentosa y creativa modista para mantener a sus hijos y emprendió su segundo matrimonio unos años después. Con la ayuda de su hijo mayor, cruzó un continente para traer a su familia a Estados Unidos con la esperanza de una mejor vida.

Era de un ingenio agudo, disfrutaba estar rodeada de gente, amaba a los animales y las rosas amarillas. La abuela más amorosa y protectora que un niño podría desear, nos deja recuerdos infinitamente atesorados y preciados. Ella era el sol alrededor del cual giraba nuestra familia, le pedimos a Dios que ilumine su alma con la luz perpetua.

A Inés le sobreviven sus hijos Alonso, Amanda, Rodrigo, Vicente, Connie, Judith y Eleonora, dieciocho nietos, veinte bisnietos y tres tataranietos.

Le precedieron en la muerte José Vicente Martínez (esposo, fallecido en 2016) y Jorge Cárdenas (primer esposo, fallecido en 1955).
