In Loving Memory of Gregory Ezell Brown
(Affectionately known as Greg, or simply “Baby Boy”)
Gregory Ezell Brown, the beloved youngest son of the late Walter and Barbara Brown Sr., entered this world with a joyful spirit and a heart full of generosity. Throughout his life, Greg was known for his intelligence, warmth, and a sense of humor that was uniquely his own.
Greg loved to laugh—and to make others laugh even more. Whether he was pulling a harmless prank, breakdancing, or flipping effortlessly off the hood of a car with his mischievous signature smile, he brought excitement, laughter, and life wherever he went. Greg enjoyed good food and good music—simple pleasures that reflected his vibrant personality. From candies and strawberry shortcake to the sounds of rap, R&B, and Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band booming from his cherished radio, music and flavor were woven into the rhythm of his days.
A devoted fitness enthusiast, Greg lived with discipline and passion. As a personal trainer at L.A. Fitness, he dedicated himself to helping others embrace healthier, stronger versions of themselves. Strong, disciplined, and proud of his athletic physique, he was our very own Popeye. Greg took pride in his appearance, but all of that paled in comparison to the pride he felt when he became a father. The birth of his son was the greatest moment of his life.
But above all, Greg loved family. He expressed that love constantly—through phone calls, jokes, photos, and those heartfelt reminders that we meant everything to him. He cherished capturing moments, whether during everyday conversations or family celebrations. His devotion to us was steady, sincere, and unwavering. You could always hear him singing, “It’s a Family Affair,” by Sly & The Family Stone—a reflection of how deeply he valued connection.
Greg’s kindness reached far beyond our family. Friends, coworkers, and anyone fortunate enough to know him experienced his loyalty, generosity, and open-hearted spirit. Though he is no longer here with us physically, the imprint of his life remains powerful. His legacy lives in the laughter he brought, the memories he created, and the unconditional love he shared so freely.
He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren in Virginia; his sisters, Denise Haggins of Brooklyn, NY, and Tamara Brown-Driver (Wayne) of Panama City, Panama; his devoted friend, Samantha; and a host of cherished family and friends.
As we honor our brother’s life, may we carry forward the joy, strength, and compassion that defined him. Rest in peace and in power, dear Greg. You are profoundly missed, but your spirit remains with us—alive in our hearts, our stories, and the love you gave so abundantly.
