Eugene Wilson

June 15, 1940 — June 13, 2025

This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under Heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die.

My Darling, Honey, Eugene Wilson “Gene” was born to Theo Wilson and Marzella Thomas Wilson on June 15, 1940, in Jefferson County, Fairfield, Alabama. Eugene accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early in life and was baptized and united with Friendship Baptist Church, Fairfield, Alabama.

Gene graduated from Wenonah High School in Birmingham, Alabama in 1958. Gene always had a passion for electronics. He could fix anything. Gene was a member of Wenonah High School Band. He could really blow that trombone.

Eugene married Annie Carey Gayle Wilson on March 20, 1960, in Venice, California. The Reverend Luther McCraw did the ceremony, Clifford Wilson, Gene’s brother was a witness. Gene was blessed with two sons, Eric Lynn and Dedrick.

Eugene received an AA Certificate in 1965 from Santa Monica City College. In 1974 he received a BSEE degree in electrical engineering. His minor was business administration with emphasis in “starting your own business."

Eugene was an Electro-Mechanical Assembler from 1960-1961. He built components for the Bemuse Radar Systems at RCA, Van Nuys, California. At Rocket Dyne, in Canoga Park, California, Gene rebuilt and tested turbo pumps that were originally installed on US missiles. He was a turbo pump mechanic.

At Korad, in Santa Monica, California, Gene’s title was Electro-Optical Technician. This was from 1963-1964. Gene was responsible for the testing of all electrical component (power supplies, shutters, coil box, Pockels Assembles). Eventually, Gene became responsible for the building and testing of the complete Ruby and Glass Laser (N.D.) Systems which included the Moon Bounce Laser in 1969.

In 1975-1986, Gene’s title was Electro-Optical Engineer. From 1987-2001, Gene was a Research Engineer. As an Electro-Optical Engineer, Gene was responsible for the design of a driver (both EO and AO) used in Xerox copiers. Gene developed the driver for the design of all new products involving high frequency devices and AO or EO driver.

Eugene developed the driver for the acoustic-ink printer developed by the Palo Alto Research Center.

Finally, in 1977-1992, Eugene started his own business. The company was named Eutronics in Culver City, California. Gene always wanted to own his own business. He so enjoyed that time. Gene ran Eutronics in concurrence with Xerox for a few years.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Theo and Marzella Wilson, and sister Edna Wilson Jones (Bunchie).

Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted...a loving and devoted wife, Annie Carey Wilson, two sons: Eric Lynn Wilson (Gabridale), and Dedrick Wilson; seven grandchildren: La Ticia Sunshine Wilson-Small, Julius Wiley Wilson, Dr. Essence Lynn Wilson, Sierra and Brandon Flowers, Ashley Waters, LaToya Oriol-Smith; one great-grandson Nash Sidney Wilson, three brothers: Clifford Wilson (Celeste),Theodore Wilson (Deborah), and Charles Ralph Wilson of Birmingham, Alabama as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

My Darling, Honey, sweet husband, you are truly missed. To God Be The Glory.
