Connie McDonald, a beloved mother, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend passed away April 30, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and service to others.
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, September 16, 1955 to Curtis McDonald and Estella Bridges, Connie was a vibrant spirit from the start. She was baptized in Louisiana by her uncle, Willa J, in the community Baptist Church - a foundation that nurtured her deep love for church throughout her life.
Connie moved to Venice, California where she attended Mark Twain Middle School and later attended Venice High School. Known for her generous heart and strong values, Connie always put others before herself. Her passions included cooking, doing hair, taking care of loved ones, going on family outings, picnics, and helping feed the homeless in her community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Keisha Smith, and her sons Antoine Yates and Bobby Terrell McDonald.
Connie leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory: her children Toquan Yates and Destinee Yates; siblings Lonnie Mackie, Nora McDonald, Raymond Nelson, Edward McDonald; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who were all touched by her warmth and kindness.
Connie McDonald's life was a testament to compassion, humility, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
