Beatrice Lee

Beatrice Lee was born on December 23, 1941, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to the late James Jr. and Lily Alexander. She was the third of four siblings, following Edna, Carrie, and James III, and was the last surviving member of her family. 

Beatrice was introduced to Christ and embraced her faith at a young age. She began her education at Ninth Street Elementary School in Los Angeles. After elementary school, her family relocated to Compton, CA, where she attended Willowbrook Junior High School before graduating from Centennial High School in 1959. In 1961, she married Ernest Seale, and together they had two children, Ernest Jr. and Paula. Later, Beatrice married Herman Lee, who has since passed away, and they lived in Mansura, Louisiana, for a few years before Beatrice returned to California. 

Beatrice enjoyed a fulfilling career as a Ward Clerk in multiple hospitals, including St. Francis in Lynwood, California, and St. Vincent's Hospital in Los Angeles, where she retired after thirty-five years of dedicated service. She cherished her time collaborating with both doctors and patients, gaining experience in various departments, including Labor and Delivery. 

Beatrice was a passionate reader who enjoyed immersing herself in all types of literature - be it fiction, non-fiction, or biographies; if it had pages, she had read it. A regular at the library, when she stumbled upon an intriguing book, she would often swap titles with her sisters, who shared her love for reading, ensuring they all enjoyed every selection before returning them. 

Affectionately known as the Life of the Party, Beatrice possessed an immense capacity for love that she extended to everyone around her. Her enthusiasm for helping others was limitless. She found fulfillment in sharing her wisdom by mentoring women, and she held her family and friends in the highest regard. 

Beatrice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her memory will be cherished by her son, Ernest Seale, Jr., and her daughter, Paula Seale, along with her grandchildren: Devon, Ebony, Destiny, Naima, and Ernest IV. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Terrance, Malachi, and Amarionna, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
