It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Anthony Ray Hamm, who peacefully departed this life on March 27, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones. Anthony, affectionately known as Hambone by family and friends, was a dedicated father, cherished brother, and loving uncle. Hambone was a beacon of light, bringing warmth and laughter to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Born on July 9, 1959 in Santa Monica, California to Rosa Marie and Hadley Hamm Sr. and he was their second eldest son of eight siblings. Anthony accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age, and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Venice, California. Anthony enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking his favorite meal (breakfast), riding his bike around the neighborhood, going to the beach, and bumping oldies on his loud speaker. Some of his favorites were classic songs from the 60s and 70s including hits by the Temptations and Delfonics.
In 2019, Anthony felt like his life was complete when his first born son AJ Hamm was birthed. He cherished every moment spent with AJ, from getting him dressed, cooking his meals, taking him to the park, watching movies, and dancing to oldies in their room. Their absolute favorite thing to do was going to Ralph’s Market to get donuts and ice cream. AJ loves ice cream! Anthony’s love for AJ was immeasurable, and their bond was so adorable. Watching AJ grow up was the greatest joy Anthony ever imagined. Anthony’s friendly, kind hearted nature and infectious sense of humor made him a loyal and cherished friend to many. He was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear when needed.
Anthony leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, including his son, AJ Hamm; five sisters: Quentrella, Janet, Kimberly, Diane, and Pamela (Craig); and one brother: Gregory. He is also survived by eight nieces: Charlotte, Sinnamen, Nyiesha, Ambra, Markela, Reann, Cyann, and Amber; one nephew: Kyven; and one uncle: Virgil Hamm, along with a host of family and friends who held him dear. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa Marie and Hadley Hamm Sr., as well as his older brother, Hadley Hamm Jr.
May he rest in peace knowing his spirit will continue to ride on in the hearts of those who loved him.
